Giclee Reproductions
These fine art prints were produced by photographing the original poster with the highest resolution studio digital camera available. The end result is a superior digital file, eliminating generations of steps used traditionally, which closely replicates the original.
This file is then processed using special software calibrated for precise color reproduction to be used for "Giclee" printing. In Giclee printing, there is no visible dot or screen pattern. The name Giclee is derived from a French term meaning to spray. This is accomplished using a very high quality wide format digital printer and special pigmented inks. Pigmented inks last longer than dye-based inks, with a life expectancy of about 100 years. It is recommended though, that these prints should be handled as any collectible print and be placed under glass and kept out of direct sunlight.
This technology allows incredible detail and brilliant color to be reproduced on a variety of papers. We are using an acid-free fine art paper, designed specifically for the Giclee process that closely simulates the original' color and texture.
